Both the form and design were conceived and produced by a group of artists. Many of Meissen's tableware forms are inspired by nature, and "Waves of Play" is one of them. The relief gives a refreshing impression of ripples on the water surface, and the form is reminiscent of flower buds and stems. The form was conceived by Ms. Sabine Wachs, who is said to be a leading figure in contemporary Meissen modeling. She hand-cut the geometric and delicate reliefs one by one to create the master mold. There is a unity in all of the items, such as teacups, coffee cups, plates, and pots, creating flowing lines. Just as ripples form on the water surface by the wind crossing the lake, the wave-like relief floats on the shining white porcelain. The designer of this series is Jörg Danielczyk, a Meissen designer. Under his guidance, skilled craftsmen effectively applied the harmonious wave-shaped relief. It can be said that this is a series that truly represents "21st-century Meissen."
