This is Okuninushi-no-Mikoto, the deity of Izumo, with a very gentle face. This is a work by Renbei Kato. This is a local toy from Tottori Prefecture, the Hojo clay doll. These are the dolls, commonly known as "Renbei dolls," that Renbei Kato began making. The Renbei dolls are highly popular among collectors, but unfortunately, they were discontinued in 2012 when Renbei Kato passed away. - Although they still look quite good at first glance, they are old items, so they are being sold with some scratches and stains.
