This is a set of a bamboo flower basket and branches that my mother, who was a master of the Yamamura school of flower arrangement, used to display in the entrance of her home. The flower basket is a traditional craft item purchased at Takashimaya. Please check the size in photo 3. My mother always boasted that she had spent many years collecting branches that would look good no matter how they were arranged. Indeed, even when I, who have never arranged flowers, replace the branches and just haphazardly put them in, the combination looks good, and it's a really interesting piece. It looks great just displaying the branches as they are, in a modern style, and it's also very lovely to add dried flowers depending on your mood or the season. It can be used by hanging it in a tokonoma alcove, on a pillar, or on a wall. It can also be used in a tea ceremony or as interior decor. A cylinder (otoshi) is included in the basket, so you can also display regular fresh flowers. I will ship it in a large box to prevent the branches from breaking.
