During the liquidation work at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant accident, there was a risk of exposure to massive amounts of radiation, and the former Soviet Union mobilized protective equipment stockpiled for military and industrial use. The gas masks worn by the workers were originally intended for chemical weapons defense and were effective in preventing the inhalation of radioactive particles, but they could not block the intense radiation itself. Nevertheless, with the limited resources of the time, they were considered important equipment to reduce exposure as much as possible, and many "liquidators" wore them while working. This is a reproduction of a liquidator from that time.
