I bought this rod used about four years ago. I've only used it for freshwater area trout fishing. I think it's a rod that can satisfy even someone with some fishing experience, making it a good first rod for area trout fishing. The specifications are 1.5-4.5g, but it's a soft rod that's easy to cast up to about 3g. It's very easy to cast spoons around 1.5g, which are a mainstay in area trout fishing.
