Established in Northampton, the holy land of British shoes, in 1879, this is a leading British shoe brand. Using the finest calfskin from top European tanneries, each pair of shoes is made with over 200 processes, taking 8 weeks to complete, and constructed using the Goodyear welt method. The size is a rare 5 1/2 E, which, at the time of purchase, was explained to me as equivalent to a Japanese size 24 cm. The total length is about 27.3 cm, the width is about 9.3 cm, and the heel height is about 2.8 cm. I wore them briefly when I bought them, but I haven't worn them recently. I have maintained them with leather treatment, touched up the edges with edge ink, and stored them with shoe trees. The soles show very little wear, and I believe there are no scratches or stains.
