NHK's morning drama "Anpan" depicted Takashi Yanase selecting poems, illustrating, and editing the book by himself. As Takashi Yanase was the editor-in-chief, this magazine is a luxury now, with him involved in everything from the cover art and illustrations to the words on the cover, the selection of fairy tales and haiku, and the afterword. Published by Sanrio, it is a sister magazine to "Shi to Meruhen" (Poems and Fairy Tales). Poems were solicited from child readers, and illustrations were done by Takashi Yanase and other artists. Artists I loved, such as Ken Kuroi, Moe Nagata, Yo Shomei, Yoshifumi Ota, and Tsutomu Murakami, filled the pages of each issue, and I was happy just looking at their pictures. Of course, Anpanman comics are also included in each issue. I have kept them carefully in a box with other art books and picture books, so I think they are in relatively good condition even after more than 40 years, but some have slight wear on the spine, and some have folded corners or small tears. The binding staples are starting to rust. The paper quality is the same for both the cover and the inside, so the paper around the staples may be weak.
