This is a wooden bead I received when I visited shrines during a trip to the Izumo region of Shimane Prefecture. After researching it... It's a wooden bead given along with a goshuin (red seal stamp) as part of the Izumo Kuni Shinbutsu Reijo pilgrimage. By visiting all 20 temples and collecting 20 beads, you can string them together to make a Buddhist rosary, connecting you with the gods and Buddhas. The beads are only available when you receive a goshuin. * No. 14... Yaegaki Shrine, "En" (Connection/Marriage) * No. 15... Kumano Taisha, "Hi" (Fire) * No. 20... Hinomisaki Shrine, "Mori" (Protection) These are the three locations. I happened to visit these places during my trip, and I don't think I'll be able to visit all 20 locations in the future, so I'm offering these three wooden beads for sale.
