【Genuine Work】Hakuin Tsuda 1862-1946 Social worker and Japanese painter of the Meiji-Showa period. Born April 1, 1862. Born in Joshin-ji Temple of Jodo Shinshu in Kasaoka, Bitchu (Okayama Prefecture), and became a monk. Studied literati painting under Chinoku Naritomi. In 1900, he established the Kanro Nursery in Kasaoka, and used the proceeds from his paintings to support orphans. In 1923, he established and became the principal of Junwa Girls' School. Died February 15, 1946, at the age of 85. 【Condition of the Work】 This paper is a genuine hand-painted work. The main paper has slight soiling, some overall stains, numerous glue stains, numerous folds throughout, and wrinkles from rolling. The mounting is generally in good condition.
