This is a Karin (Chinese quince) and white wood shaft mechanical pencil. The lead diameter is 0.5mm. Since it has the same mechanism as the Pentel Stein, you can change the lead diameter to 0.5mm by purchasing commercially available leads. I bought this, but it's been sitting in my desk drawer, so I'm putting it up for sale to send it to someone who will use it. Karin wood ages beautifully, developing character and "growing" with use. The wooden shaft is carefully crafted, with no gaps between the metal fittings. It's slightly thicker than a Nohara Kogei pencil and thinner than a Kobo Kuseki pencil. The pencil itself has a low center of gravity and is very easy to handle, providing a satisfying writing feel. The eraser is unused. I'm sorry, but I'm not considering lowering the price.
