As a slip-prevention measure, I had a rubber pad applied to the front of the shoes at a shoe repair shop. I've disinfected them and will leave the pads on. Also, the slightly scuffed heels have been repaired. The chain part is a little scuffed and black, but it's not noticeable when worn.
