This is a battery-free selenium light meter for both incident and reflected light, nicknamed "Director" or "Leader Deluxe." The body is very compact and lightweight, measuring 43mm wide x 68mm long x 25mm thick. As shown in image 2, it can measure high brightness with the front cover (multi-filter) closed, and low brightness with it open (image 3). Furthermore, by attaching the optional detachable amplifier (large-area selenium light cell), it becomes a 3-step switch for ultra-low brightness. The above describes reflected light measurement, but incident light measurement is also possible by attaching the optional incident light measurement attachment (white plate) to the light-receiving part. When measuring light, align the red, blue, and yellow marks on the dial with the line indicated by the meter needle for high, low, and ultra-low brightness, respectively, and read the combination of aperture value and shutter speed on the dial. The LV value (same as EV value) is also displayed at the bottom of the dial, which is convenient. The CDS type, adopted in later light meters, tends to deteriorate over time, but the selenium light cell of this meter is said to be semi-permanently usable. I love and have collected retro selenium light meters, but I am selling this one to organize my dehumidifying cabinet. 【Appearance】Please see the images for the condition. The top cover is very clean. There are no scratches or cracks on the meter window or dial, and it is clear. The red paint on the needle is slightly chipped, but visibility is not a problem in practical use. There is age-related clouding on the black plastic of the bottom surface, which is not noticeable at all because it's on the back (image 4). 【Operation】The meter is moving vigorously. The measured value almost matched my other light meter (L-208) as shown in the 15th photo (at EV10). Fine adjustment is possible with the screw on the back. The included leather case (images 11-14) has some scratches, but no tears or damage, and can still be used practically. The original strap (image 11) is also included (it doesn't seem to be damaged, but it may have deteriorated over time, so I think it's safer to use a substitute). Since there is no need to worry about battery depletion, how about using it as a spare light meter? ※The instruction manual can be downloaded from the manufacturer's HP. ※The detachable amplifier for ultra-low brightness and the incident light attachment are not included. ※I have checked the operation, but this meter was released in 1957, so please understand. #SeleniumLightMeter #L-8 #IncidentLightType #ReflectedLightType
