This is a rare Shelley cup and saucer. The shape is a less common Wildman type, with an Orlander shape featuring a wavy design. The saucer's scalloped edges are also lovely, making this an elegant cup and saucer. Inside the cup, on a white base, are cute primroses. Both the cup and saucer feature yellow primroses on a beautiful white background, creating a gentle atmosphere. Shelley seems to have favored primroses, as they often appear on these unusual cup and saucer sets. I haven't seen many with violets, roses, or lilies of the valley, and when I do find them, they're usually at prices I can't afford. I'm not an expert or an antique dealer, so I might just not know. Perhaps I've only happened to purchase sets with primroses. It's a graceful and charming cup and saucer.
