However, with Kinryohen alone, scout bees may come, but they often don't settle. It includes examples of how to prepare waiting boxes, where and how to set them up, and how to apply the attractant liquid. ◇Waiting boxes are always a good thing, but sometimes bees will move in quickly if you change the location. ※Location selection is important. ◇We usually set up multiple waiting boxes, and we've had many successful captures even in locations without Kinryohen (photo 12) and with only capture boards (photo 16). ◇This is the ultimate set for effectively capturing Japanese honeybee swarms. ◇Attractant Liquid: Japanese honeybees prefer used environments, so applying this to the waiting box creates a more familiar environment. In my experience, it's particularly effective to thoroughly soak the entrance and the ceiling inside the hive. Also, instead of applying it just once beforehand, apply it multiple times, but not to the point of being sticky. It's especially good to apply it in the morning during the swarming season. ※The key is to apply it to the outside of the waiting box every 2-3 days; the scent will attract scout bees. ◇Beeswax: Melting it onto the ceiling with a burner is effective.
