This is a mountain sake cup, likely from the Tokoname kiln. It is a "tenba" (top) piece, fired in a stacked kiln. The generously applied natural glaze has pooled into a glassy, green appearance, making it a highlight of the piece. Tenba pieces are originally few in number, and those in good condition are even rarer. I believe this mountain sake cup is a rare and exceptional item. A portion of the rim is chipped, but it has been repaired with kintsugi (silver repair).
