Shakuhachi flute, Shishida-ryu Takusui. It is a 7-hon-choshi, 6-hole, tenchi-tō-maki, natural color finish. This is a Shishida-ryu Takusui shakuhachi flute crafted by the second-generation flute maker, Chuichi Ito of Ito Chikukanki Seisakusho, who succeeded the flute maker Shishida of the late Edo period. It was made in the late Showa era, over 40 years ago. The bamboo is well-dried, and the natural color has a beautiful, subdued appearance, resulting in a wonderful instrument.
