A set of traditional Noh masks: Ko-omote (young woman) and Okina (old man). These items were displayed in the Japanese-style room of my parents' house. They look great displayed as a pair or individually. They are believed to be Tsuchi-yaki, a traditional craft of Miyagi/Sendai, possibly made by Sagoro Haga (see photo 14; this is my amateur assessment, apologies if incorrect). Based on when they were purchased by my parents, they are likely works from the latter half of the Showa era. Size (approx.) (see photo 1) Left: Ko-omote (female mask) 21 cm x 13 cm ① Right: Okina (male mask) 19 cm x 16 cm ② Excluding the beard Wall-hanging boards (with hardware) Both: 36 cm x 24 cm ① Displaying this mask will brighten up the space. It looks great in both Japanese-style and Western-style rooms. ② Features include fluffy eyebrows, a long beard, and a detached jaw connected with string (see photo 13). Also known as "Hakushikijo." I will pack them carefully, but some of the beard hairs may inevitably come loose. Thank you for your understanding. These items were displayed in a Japanese-style room, away from direct sunlight. The masks show slight fading, and the base boards have aged nicely. There are minor scratches and small stains. Photo 1 shows everything included in the sale (the hardware on the wall side is not included). I will not sell them separately. These items have been handled with care, but they have been owned by someone. I do not recommend them to those seeking perfect condition.
