This is a conch shell made under the supervision of a Yamabushi (mountain ascetic) priest. It can be blown and produces sound, but it is a small one; it does not produce the same sound as a conch shell from the Warring States period. It's a portable size for mountain climbing, and could be used as a bear-deterrent whistle! Regarding the production, it has been thoroughly cleaned, disinfected, and processed, but it is a natural item. Please refrain from purchasing if you are sensitive or seek perfection.
