Made in 1990 A violin made in the workshop of Yukinobu Chawai, the model for "Whisper of the Heart." This is one of his later works. There is a stamp with the number 14 on it (perhaps a serial number?). The scroll is made in the Cremona style, and the edges are carefully and neatly finished. When you think of violins by Japanese makers, you might imagine a slightly darker sound, but this one is rather bright. If I were to rate it numerically, I'd say around 7/10. It's brighter than average, and its warm, gentle tone is appealing. ADG are Dominant, and I forgot what E is... The adjusters are Wittner's Hill model. Even the chamfering of the pegs, which is often omitted in the setup process, has been done, showing the meticulous craftsmanship of this exceptional instrument. (The corners of the pegs don't hit your hand when tuning, so your hand doesn't hurt. It's a thoughtful detail.) That's all. Thank you for your consideration.
