This is a barrel for an E-flat clarinet, 41mm. It has a cutback and can use B-flat clarinet reeds. Made of cocobolo, it produces a softer tone than grenadilla. It has a similar feel to a Backun barrel, and the color is beautiful. It fits Leblanc E-flat clarinets. I had the inner diameter of the barrel custom-made by the instrument maker Hakam Din to fit a Leblanc E-flat clarinet. It will probably fit a Noblet as well. I haven't tried others, but cork adjustments may be necessary. This barrel improves the airflow, and the characteristic difficulty of playing the E-flat clarinet is improved, so I think it's worth trying. I mainly use grenadilla, so I've decided to sell it while it's still in good condition.
