Purchased new and only tried on, but it has been stored at home. It's hard to tell from the images, but it's a design with sparkling gold and glitter woven in fine threads. There are parts where the glitter and gold threads stick out or look like fraying, but since it was only tried on, I believe it's part of the fabric and design. It's gorgeous up close.
