Purchased 3-4 years ago. There are no noticeable stains, but I think there is a feeling of use because my child enjoyed playing with it. Regarding the boxes: As shown in the second image, the 16-piece and 20-piece sets have boxes, but I plan to send the 9-piece and 12-piece sets with only the pictures cut out, similar to the others. (Please understand that this is to reduce shipping costs.)
