The fifth release in the Grand Vintage series features red berry fruits, candied sweetness, and a floral aroma, creating a refined and elegant expression. The distillation year, 1997, was when Dr. Bill Lumsden, the newly appointed Director of Distilling, was incorporating ambitious experiments and creating a new style. Through the then-uncommon finishing in wine casks, this expressive whisky was born, which would determine the future direction of Glenmorangie. After approximately 10 years of maturation in bourbon barrels, a portion was additionally matured for 13 years in Bordeaux wine casks. It was completed with a meticulous marriage of the original spirit aged for 23 years in bourbon barrels and the original spirit additionally matured in Oloroso sherry casks. The wine casks are from Château Montrose (Bordeaux Grand Cru / 2nd Growth in Médoc, Saint-Estèphe). #Glenmorangie #Whisky
