The manual shows the compatible PCs in the photos: Windows 950SR2/98/Me/2000/XP. Since I don't have those computers, I can't confirm if it starts up properly. I think the CD has no scratches, but that's just my amateur opinion. I checked if it would start up on an old PC at work. It works fine. It's an old item, but it was educational and fun for parents and children, so I'm offering it for sale in case someone can use it. I think we used it about three times at home.
