This is a finished Honba Yuki-tsumugi kimono. Yuki-tsumugi is a traditional textile from Ibaraki Prefecture, counted among the three major tsumugi of Japan. Hand-woven Honba Yuki-tsumugi was designated as a National Important Intangible Cultural Property in 1956, and due to the cultural value of its techniques, it was registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2010. The soft warmth and surprisingly light weight of the silk wadding fabric are characteristic of Yuki-tsumugi. This piece features a design of slender towers and spires composed of 100-mountain equivalent kikko-gasuri (tortoiseshell pattern). The subdued base color is timeless, making it suitable for a wide range of ages. We hope you will enjoy it with your own fukuro obi or Nagoya obi. ● Japanese Color: A dark blue color with a greenish tint, close to a bluish-gray. ● Size: Hiro-eri (wide collar), awase (lined) Length: 162cm Sleeve to sleeve length: 64cm Sleeve length: 49cm Front width: 23cm Back width: 29.5cm Seam allowance for sleeve to sleeve length: approx. 3cm Uchiyage (hem allowance): approx. 4cm *Please note that there may be slight variations due to amateur measurements. ● Material: Both the kimono fabric, lining, and hakke (lining of the lower part of the kimono) are silk. ● Condition: There is a stain on the left collar. It has been worn, but otherwise it is clean and in good condition. Please understand that this is a used item before purchasing. ● Other Notes: There is no certification paper.
