Sorabuki is a mask that appears in Kyogen. Its distinctive feature is the shape of its mouth, which is said to be either pursed to utter a norito (Shinto prayer) or to blow fire. This Sorabuki mask is particularly well-finished with good paintwork and an expressive appearance. My father has created this mask, along with many others, for use in local festivals.
