This is the TASCAM DR-100MK3, a flagship linear PCM recorder. It supports both an internal battery and dry-cell batteries, so you don't have to worry about running out of power. It's capable of high-quality, high-resolution recording at 24bit/192kHz, and the microphone input is phantom-powered, making it very convenient. I bought it as part of a hobby and for filming to investigate the performance differences between large and small speakers, but I haven't used it at all since then. This product is also a discontinued model, so if anyone is looking for one, please consider it.
