The viewfinder works (see image 12). This product has been tested for playback of MiniDV tapes, external output to a TV, etc., using a DC adapter and MiniDV tape that I have. The tape operation sound is a little loud, but there is no problem. Image 14 shows the playback of an old MiniDV tape and output to a TV. Both the video and audio are clear, so dubbing is also not a problem. Since the LCD screen is clear, you can also watch tapes on the main unit.
