Light reflected from any surface can become polarized, so a polarizing filter is used to select the light entering the camera lens. Using a circular PL filter allows you to remove unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water and glass. It also makes colors appear more saturated, with higher contrast and clarity. This effect is often used to enhance the contrast and saturation of blue skies and white clouds. Hoya's polarizing filters do not affect the overall color balance of the shot. Digital Multi-Coating Digital multi-coating filters significantly reduce the appearance of lens flare and ghosting caused by reflections. Black Anodized Frame The filter features a matte black aluminum satin finish anodized frame to reduce reflections. Black Rimmed Glass These filters are equipped with black rimmed glass to reduce the possibility of light reflecting from the edges. Low Profile Frame An ultra-thin filter frame that helps avoid vignetting with ultra-wide angle lenses is also designed to hold the lens cap. Knurled Edge Frame These filters are equipped with straight knurled edges for non-slip grip and easy installation and removal.
