It is a very valuable item made in the late 17th century. The chinoiserie-style plants, flowers, birds, and insects are hand-painted and very impressive. Sarreguemines has reproduced this pattern as the Rouen series since 1970. A sucrier is a sugar pot, but this one has a relatively substantial size (similar to a small soup tureen). It can be easily used as interior decoration, a bonbonniere (candy dish), or a small item container. The main body, in particular, has widespread crazing and discoloration, giving it an antique beauty. It is believed to have been used regularly. There are no chips or cracks, and the condition is good. It is a very old item, almost 150 years old.
