Thank you for viewing. Item No. 498 1️⃣ This is a mid-Edo period sometsuke (blue and white) plate. There are no cracks or chips. However, there is one spot (about 5mm) on the rim that looks like a repair. It's unclear whether it was repaired or if it was part of the original condition, even after close inspection. 2️⃣ It features a takokusa (octopus arabesque) design and three window paintings each depicting pine, bamboo, and plum blossoms. 3️⃣ The dynamic takokusa and the delicate depiction of the pine, bamboo, and plum blossoms make this a plate of high quality. 4️⃣ The back features arabesque patterns and the inscription "富喜長春" (Fukichōshun) within the foot ring.
