Brinsley Schwarz (1974) Brinsley Schwarz was an English pub rock band formed in 1969 with the original members: Brinsley Schwarz (guitar), Nick Lowe (bass, vocals), Bob Andrews (keyboards), Billy Rankin (drums). They were active as a central band of the pub rock movement until their disbandment in 1975, and still enjoy strong popularity today. Initially, they had a country rock style influenced by The Band and others, but from the mid to late period, Nick Lowe's songwriting became more prominent, and their sound evolved into solid pub rock and power pop.
