This is the last studio album with Ryuichi Masuda (b) on bass. Reflecting the fact that it was produced in just three days (!), this album is full of brutality that belies the minimal instrumentation of dr&b. While it may sound like free improvisation or just raw energy at first listen, the ensemble/arrangements are actually very calculated with a constant awareness of the song structure, making it a work whose depth can be appreciated the more you listen to it. rm
