Established in 1764, Uosaburo, a long-standing traditional Japanese restaurant located in Kyo-machi, Fushimi-ku, Kyoto, has overcome the turbulent times of the late Edo period, including the Battle of Toba-Fushimi, and continues to offer its traditional hospitality. I often used this restaurant for business entertainment about 30 years ago. On that occasion, I received this approximately 40cm square cotton handkerchief from the proprietress.
