I'm cleaning out my mother's atelier. It's a very unusual design. I think it's quite old. It seems the hardware on the back wasn't attached from the beginning. Only the hardware for the string was attached, and the lid was secured with nails. You can either purchase hardware and attach it, or use it as is. The gold pattern and deep green are gorgeous. There are no issues with its use. It's a very lovely frame!! It has glass, so I will pack it with great care, but please let me know before leaving feedback if anything happens. This is just a personal inspection from someone who has stored it, so if you are concerned about the details, please purchase a new one from an art supply store. I hope you will use it.
