C.G. CONN 18H Director, with a 7 1/2 inch bell and a Coprion bell (pure copper bell). This is a Coprion bell version of the 14H Director (yellow brass bell), a similar model. It is believed to have been manufactured from around 1954 to 1970. The "Coprion bell" is a very distinctive bell developed and manufactured primarily by Conn from the 1930s to the 1960s. It is made by electroforming pure copper (100% Copper) into a seamless shape, and its unique tone and characteristics have made it particularly popular among vintage instrument fans. The characteristics of the Coprion bell are said to be a deep, dark, and core sound (personally, I think it has a warm, rich, and deep tone). The slide action is not a problem, but there is some deterioration at the stocking end due to aging. There is a 1 cm scratch/dent on the bell. Other than that, there are minor scratches, but no noticeable dents. Reference Bore size: 0.484 inches, Bell: 7 1/2 inches, Length: 46.45 inches.
