This cannot be removed by wiping with a glasses cloth. While visibility itself is maintained, this pattern does enter the field of vision. I used these while riding a motorcycle, so I believe the degradation is due to UV exposure. The temple coating also seems to be peeling. The glasses function normally as glasses.
