Yoshiko Tsuchida worked part-time as an assistant at Fujio Pro, the studio of Fujio Akatsuka, while in high school. She continued to do so after graduating from high school, but before reaching adulthood, she decided to become independent and made her professional debut with "Harenchi-kun" published in the magazine "Novel Junior" in 1968. In 1971, she began serializing "Yoshiko desu~" in "Weekly Margaret" and "Kimidori Midoro Aomidoro" in "Ribon," gaining popularity. From 1973, "Tsuruhime ja~!" serialized in "Weekly Margaret" became a big hit, and she received the 4th Japan Cartoonists Association Award of Excellence in 1975. She gained popularity with her unique style, including "Waracchya Iyan!" serialized in "Ribon Comic," "Let's Go! 3 Biki" serialized in "Weekly Margaret," "Watashi wa Shijimi!" serialized in "Ribon," "Kagayake Umeboshi Nagareboshi," and "Nebaneba Nebako."
