Those recording with microphones will need a microphone preamplifier. The sound is superb, and I used it up to Win10. The dedicated XLR main outputs are a welcome feature, and this interface has a professional feel throughout. I switched to MOTU due to FireWire support and the times. It still has usable DSP effects.
