It's a company that handled silver crafts, and few professionals even know about their silver-plated products. There's an engraving of "1860" on the bottom, and whether this indicates the year or a serial number is also a mystery. Finding this in the US, let alone in Japan, would be nearly impossible, wouldn't it? Regarding the item, the grandmother mentioned it was silver, but upon investigation, it may be silver-plated rather than solid silver. I don't have expert knowledge, so I'm not sure of the details.
