Akira Yoshida Born in Oume in 1948. Built a kiln at home in 1962. Entered the Aichi Prefectural Ceramic Research Institute as a trainee in 1965. Assistant at the Japan Ceramic Art Club in 1967. Worked on firing Oya stone for wall surfaces in Utsunomiya Oya in 1968. Trained at a kiln in Imabari, Aichi Prefecture in 1969. Trained at the Shiraishi Ceramic Research Institute in 1970. Built and opened an anagama kiln in Miyama-cho, Hachioji City in 1972. Studied porcelain at the Taisan Kiln in Arita in 1973. First solo exhibition in 1974. Solo exhibition at Isetan in 1975, followed by many other solo exhibitions. Passed away at the age of 60 in 2008.
