These glasses are made with SPM (Sun Platinum), a rust-resistant material developed in Japan in 1930, and feature a Hankake (half-rim) design. The lens shape is round, with a classic style. The engraving on the bridge and temples is beautifully finished, showcasing the high level of craftsmanship. Sun Platinum was developed in Japan around 1955. Until the late 1970s, Sun Platinum frames were manufactured as high-end eyewear frames in Sabae, Fukui Prefecture, leading the industry.
