They feature patterns of pine trees, pagodas, and butterflies, drawn with varying shades of Gosu (indigo pigment). The edges are shaped in a gentle wave pattern (Kikowari), and a brown glaze called "Sabiyu" is applied, enhancing the contrast between the white porcelain and the indigo.
