This fortune-telling cup was made as a souvenir of the British Empire Exhibition held in Wembley, England, exactly 100 years ago. The saucer has the words 【Wembley Pavilion】, 【London】, and 【1924】. -------------------------------------------------- Around 1920, it became popular to predict the future and the past using the tea leaves left in the cup after finishing your tea. As tea leaf reading became popular, manufacturers began producing cups specifically for fortune-telling. 【Aynsley】 is said to have been one of the first to be involved in the production of fortune-telling cups. The shapes of the tea leaves looked like trees, flowers, animals, fish, insects, buildings, ships, hearts, and spades.
