Brief Biography: 1942: Born in Kinosaki-cho, Hyogo Prefecture. 1949: Ordained under Master Soukou Nishigaki. After graduating from Bukkyo University: Trained at Daitoku-ji Sodo and Shokoku-ji Sodo. 1978: Became the chief priest of Gokuraku-zenji Temple, a Daitoku-ji branch temple in Hyogo Prefecture. 2007: Awarded the Order of the Blue Ribbon for long-standing welfare activities. 2016: Awarded the Order of the Sacred Treasure in the spring conferment. Gokuraku-zenji Temple was founded in the early 15th century and has a deep connection with Zen Master Takuan.
