They needed a quick-release buckle to quickly take off the bag when it was packed with luggage. However, they didn't have the funds to custom-make the buckles, so they frantically searched for buckles at a local car scrap yard. That's the root of our iconic seatbelt buckle. The Citizen is made separately inside and out to achieve high durability and all-weather performance, so to speak, it's made twice.
