This is a finished Honba Yuki-tsumugi kimono, designated as an Important Intangible Cultural Property. Yuki-tsumugi is a traditional textile from Ibaraki Prefecture, counted among the three major tsumugi fabrics in Japan. The certification for Honba Yuki-tsumugi has a mark commonly known as the "Yui" mark printed on the center seal. This hand-woven Honba Yuki-tsumugi was designated as a National Important Intangible Cultural Property in 1956, and due to its cultural value, it was registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2010. The soft, warm, and surprisingly lightweight silk wadding fabric is a characteristic of Honba Yuki-tsumugi. Striped patterns are woven with dyed colors such as purple, blue, light blue, green, and gray. This is a Yuki-tsumugi from the long-established Fujinuki Co., Ltd. A certification from the Honba Yuki-tsumugi Wholesale Cooperative and Important Intangible Cultural Property designation is included.
