It features a double hamon (temper line) that replicates the gunome-midare (irregular, undulating pattern) of the Osafune school, with a straight yakiba (blade edge) within the gunome, just like an old sword of the Bizen Osafune school. The tsuka (handle) is black same (rayskin) with black cotton thread twist wrapping. The sageo (cord) is navy and light brown Sanada himo (braided cord). The fittings feature an auspicious design of a rising dragon, and the tsuba (guard) depicts a bamboo and tiger motif. The habaki (blade collar) has a lacquer finish. Within the gunome-midare of the blade, there is nioi (a hazy effect), and the straight yakiba becomes visible with the refraction of light. This is a very interesting sword.
