Ochiai Mandolin M4 I purchased this mandolin about six months ago when I started playing. It's a 2001 model, M4. The string height is low, with the 12th fret string height being less than 2.5mm. The neck is also straight. It's easy to play, and the sound is good. I like the soft tone, so I've replaced the strings with Optima green strings. The tailpiece has some rust. I don't think it affects the playing. The previous owner's name is written on the label inside the soundhole. About two months ago, I had the deluxe string replacement plan done at Shimamura Music.
