Keiko Yamashita Born in Kagawa Prefecture in 1929. Graduated from the Department of Crafts, Tokyo Fine Arts School (now Tokyo University of the Arts) in 1951. Selected for the Nitten Exhibition in 1952 (and subsequently selected five times in a row). Entered the inner discipleship of the Urasenke school in the same year. Assumed the position of chief priest of Koetsu-ji Temple in 1966 (until 1997). Held positions such as professor of the Urasenke school and director of the headquarters of the Urasenke Domonkai Association. Passed away in 2015.
